Located in Birmingham, Alabama (STARFLEET’s Region Two), the USS Hephaestus, NCC-2004 is the oldest and largest STARFLEET Chapter in the State of Alabama. We also have members in other parts of the South including Georgia and Texas.

Our name comes from the Greek god of the forge, Hephaestus, perhaps better known as the Roman god, Vulcan. Though the Trek connection to the name is obvious, Vulcan has special significance to the citizens of Birmingham. A statue of the mythic figure is atop Red Mountain honoring the steel industry that once was the major source of revenue for the Birmingham area.

The USS Hephaestus has Business meetings on the First Monday of each month at 7:00pm at Kingdom Comics, in Vestavia Hills. We invite anyone to come and attend these meetings to learn more about us and come join the fun! Click here for directions
